Soldier Marathon Post-Race Update

Thanks to all who came & ran the Soldiers Half, Full, & Relay Marathon, Kids Marathon & 5K!

If you did not receive the commemorative coin, the poster or the half marathon medal, please email caroleeluther@gmail.com of what you did not receive along with the best address to mail them.

Race start time Sat, Nov 9: 8am for Full, Half & Relay Marathoners. 8:10am for 5K

Kids Marathon 1 mile finishing mile tonight Friday, Nov 8 at 5:30pm.

Packet Pickup today opens at 11am – you will sign a waiver before picking up your packet.

Fall Couch to 5K

A new season of Couch to 5K training starts up this week! The first week will be held at Cooper Creek Park and then the remainder of the program will move over to Lakebottom Park.

Oct 22, 2013: 9 week program
Target Race: Big Dog Jingle on December 21st
First week of session meet Tues, Oct. 22 & Thurs, Oct. 24 nights at 6:00pm @ Cooper Creek Park
Remainder of session meets Tues & Thurs at 6:30pm at Lakebottom Park

Oct 28, 2013: 8 week program
Target Race: Big Dog Jingle on December 21st
Meets Mon. & Weat 6:30pm at Big Dog Running Co. on Broadway at 5:30

Couch to 5K

A new season of Couch to 5K training programs start up next week! There are two different locations and times available. Details are below:

Aug 26, 2013: 9 week program
Race: Big Dog Howl 5K Oct 26
Meets Mon & Wed nights at 5:30pm @ Big Dog Running Co.

Aug 27, 2013: 9 week program
Race: Big Dog Howl 5K Oct 26
Meets Tues & Thurs nights at 6:30pm @ Cooper Creek

Flat Rock 5K Packet Pick Up & Registration

Packet pick up & registration for Summer Series Race #3 – Flat Rock 5K

Date: Wednesday, July 24
Location: Big Dog Running Co, 1104 Broadway

$5 members; $10 for nonmembers sign up at downtown Big Dog or at Flat Rock
12 -4:30pm then will move to Flat Rock Park at 6pm until 7:25pm. Packet pick up at Flat Rock will be at the start/finish of the race on the right side of the road. Race starts at 7:30pm. It starts on the road in the park & goes to the Rails to Trails, turn left, go until you see the turn around sign & then return to the finish. Please stay on the right side of the path. Registration is still open if you have a friend that wants to run!

Bring your shirts to have them marked!
If you have not signed the waiver for Country’s, need your signature.
Parking: best place to park to assure easy exit will be on side of road or in grass after the entrance to the rails to trails – watch for parking signs. Road will be closed from 7:20pm until the race is finished from Friendship Hall all the way to the section of the rails to trails.
Runner safety is important!
New Balance will be there – check them out!

Series Entry: CRR member $50; Nonmember $70 includes technical shirt; $80 Race Day for Everyone

Individual 5K Entry:
Summer Solstice 5K: CRR Member $20; Nonmember $25; $30 Race Day
One Mile Entry – Summer Solstice only: CRR member $10: Nonmember $15 1 mile _____
July 10, July 24 & Aug 7 5k’s: CRR Member $5; Nonmember $10
Country’s Midnight Express 5K: Must sign special Country’s waiver in order to be entered in Country’s 5K & receive Country’s Midnight Express shirt with special logo—waiver will be available at 1st packet pick up

Shirts received: Summer Series tech shirt, Summer Solstice shirt, Country’s Shirt

Race Day registration is from 6:15 to 7:15 pm. for Wed races. No refunds given.

Awards:
Summer Solstice:
1 mile: all participants get ribbons; 5K : top 3 overall; winner in age groups
5K Series Awards will be given at the end of the Series on Sept 21, 2013 along with a Celebration Party
Runners must run 4 of the 5 races to be eligible for Series awards including Summer Solstice & Country’s
Midnight Express. Awards to top three overall, winner in 10 year age groups—all male & female
