Young runners, listen up! We have an awesome program for you, Kids Run Columbus! The free training program for kids is going on now every Sunday at 4PM at the Hardaway High Track.

Goals:
Promote general fitness

Create lifetime of activity

Promote healthy lifestyle

Basic nutrition

Increase running in the community

Who: PreK – 8th Grade

Meet each Sunday for training at Hardaway Track

When: Sundays at 4PM

Hardaway High School Track at 4pm.

Oct 19 – Kids Run Columbus 2014 at Lakebottom Park 4pm

Nov 7 – Kids Soldier Marathon

Registration for the Lakebottom 5K is still available. The race will be Saturday, August 16 at 8:00 am at Lakebottom Park. Packet pick up will be Friday, August 15 from noon to 6:00 pm at Big Dog Uptown and at Lakebottom Park from 6:30 am – 7:55 am on race day in the parking lot near the Girl Scout House.

If you have ever been interested in training for a Marathon or Half Marathon, the Jeff Galloway program is a great place to start. This season’s training will target preparing runners for the Soldier Marathon and Half Marathon in Columbus, as well as the Jeff Galloway 13.1 Half Marathon in Atlanta.

This year’s schedule will once again include the Columbus Roadrunners’ Summer Series.  Speedwork beginning on April 1, will be targeting this race series.  Remember speedwork and 5K races are a great way to increase your pace for marathons and half marathons.  If you want to get faster, participation is encouraged.

Try out the Galloway program this Saturday, May 17, at 7:30 am in front of Big Dog Running on Broadway. Come early to find parking.
