Running to Fight Cancer

The Columbus Roadrunners have teamed up with the American Cancer Society
DetermiNation Endurance Event Program
to raise money to fight cancer. The
Columbus Roadrunners will offer a free training program to all participants
in the ACS DetermiNation Program. We will be targeting the ING GA Half and
Full Marathon on 3-21-2010 in Atlanta. This program is for all runners
inlcuding the novice runner. The program is designed to have a novice runner
complete a half marathon after 3 months of training. For the more advanced
runners the training program can target the marathon.

*Our Introductory Info Session will be Thursday December 3rd, at Below The
Knee from 6 PM - 8 PM. Below the Knee is 6750 Veterans Parkway near Ben &
Jerrys. The store number is 706-322-3552.

You can save lives with every mile you conquer!

Training for an endurance race is a huge commitment, but by joining the
American Cancer Society DetermiNation endurance event program you can help
save lives. Join our nation of athletes determined to save lives by
dedicating your training and race participation in marathons, triathlons,
cycling, and other endurance events to fight a disease that has already
taken too many lives. With every step you take and every mile you conquer,
you’ll be helping create a world with less cancer.

The American Cancer Society DetermiNation endurance event program will
provide the support, training, and fundraising tools you need to achieve
your personal victory - first to raise funds that will help save lives, and
then to cross the finish line on race day. And, because every mile is more
meaningful, you’ll have the extra motivation you need knowing you’re helping
save lives from all types of cancer.

*The Columbus Roadrunners will host the First training run on Saturday
December 5th at 7:30 AM at 10th & Broadway.*

Please contact Dr. Ed at olympiced@aol.com or at 706-573-6677 for more
information on the DetermiNATION program.

We have races the next two weekends that both feature 5k and 10 races.  The Infantry Museum and Blake Reynolds Memorial runs both raise money for great causes.  Come out and support the cause but also have some fun with fellow runners.  Check out the events section for more information about each race.
